Mission Statement
Our vision
To be commonly regarded as one of the best university careers services in the world.
Our aim
We encourage and enable undergraduates, postgraduates, researchers and alumni to make and implement well-informed decisions about their careers.
The Careers Service provides and engages all our stakeholders in a range of high-value career-focused services, programmes and activities. We work to bring recruiters and job-seekers together.
Our key objectives
- Provide relevant careers information and services to undergraduates, postgraduates, researchers and recruiters in the most timely and effective way
- Attract and enable organisations to promote opportunities effectively and make contact with the most appropriate students
- Work with alumni, providing access to careers advice and engaging them to mentor students
- Work together with Colleges, Departments and the University offices to raise awareness of and engagement with the Careers Service
- Implement leading systems and streamlined procedures within a responsive, skilled and motivated organisation to achieve these tasks including monitoring our performance
- Provide a welcoming and supportive atmosphere
- Treat all our users with fairness, respect and consideration
- Provide impartial, objective, transparent, accessible and confidential careers advice, information and guidance
- Promote equality of opportunity and diversity, in accordance with relevant legislation and best practice, including the University’s Integrated Equal Opportunities Policy, www.admin.ox.ac.uk/eop
- Foster innovation and continuous improvement in the range and quality of the services we provide
- Operate within the terms of the Association of Graduate Recruiters (AGR)/Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS) and the National Union of Students (NUS) agreed statement
