See a Careers Adviser
If you're in Oxford you have two options:
a) book a 20 minute 1:1 appointment with an Adviser through CareerConnect, or
b) just drop-in to 56 Banbury Road for a 15 minute first-come, first-served 1:1 session
If you're away from Oxford in the vacation you can use option a) to book an appointment, and then email reception to request that this takes place over the telephone or Skype.
Additional information for alumni and DPhil students and researchers is below.
Each of our Advisers can advise you on:
- Any sector
- Further study
- Deciding what to do
- Looking for work
- Making applications
- Developing skills
Each adviser takes responsibility for a number of different areas, but we share our knowledge with each other. We publish our list of advisers by sector and you can read more about them, but please be aware that all careers advisers regularly support students considering a wide range of careers.
Additional information for: DPhil and Research Staff
- DPhil and Research Staff can request longer appointments if needed
- We have two specialist advisers for researchers on staff
- We run a number of specific events and workshops for DPhils and Researchers - see the calendar on CareerConnect
Additional information for alumni
- We support Oxford alumni for life
- All Oxford alumni can register for a CareerConnect account to book careers advice appointments or register for events and workshops - email reception@careers.ox.ac.uk with your full name, course, college and date of birth.
- Our pre-booked appointments can be via phone or Skype. To help us manage the demands of our current students when they are here in person we ask that alumni appointments via phone or Skype take place outside term time wherever possible
- While we will try our best to accommodate you, we do have finite capacity and cannot, at present, guarantee a careers advice appointment, particularly in the very busy Michaelmas Term
- Many careers services offer a system of 'Mutual Aid' to allow graduates of other universities to use a limited range of their services. Feel free to contact university careers services local to you to ask whether they participate in this scheme
