Events for International Students

The Careers Service runs a number of events specifically for international students, and for students interested in working abroad.  Some of these events include:

  • Staying in the UK to Work - New provision for students under Tier 2 of the Points Based System, Thursday 8 March 2012, 1-2pm, Careers Service, 56 Banbury Road.

On 6 April 2012  the Government will introduced a new employment immigration route under Tier 2, specifically designed for recent graduates.   This will replace Tier 1 (Post Study Work) which will close to all new applicants on 5 April 2012 (with no exceptions).

At this session, the University’s Visa and Immigration Adviser, will give a brief overview of the scheme and outline the requirements to be eligible to apply.   The adviser will remain at the Careers Service beyond 2pm to deal with any specific questions not covered in the presentation.

Please note: this session will not cover Tier 1 (Post Study Work) which closes on 5 April 2012.  If you are eligible to apply under PSW (because you have already completed a UK academic qualification) please visit
    http://www.ox.ac.uk/students/international_students/working/ for more information.

We are anticipating a lot of interest in this event, so please arrive promptly. Places will be offered on a “first come first served” basis.

For information from this session, please see our Working in the UK page.
  • Careers in Malaysia Day – Saturday 5th November 2011, Imperial College, London
