Tracking students' careers activity

Every year we survey all undergraduate and postgraduates 6 months after they leave Oxford as part of the Government's Destination of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) survey. We collect results from over 80% of UK-domiciled undergraduate leavers, 65% of EU-domiciled leavers and 35% of internationally-domiciled leavers.

We believe it is important for our current and prospective students to be as fully informed of actual destinations so they can make good career decisions; we have, therefore, put the destination data in the public domain

Searching the survey results

You can view the merged results of 2009 and 2010 by clicking here, and see what leavers are doing by:

  • college
  • department
  • division
  • course
The data we show includes
  • type of occupation / type of further study
  • salary

These results can all be broken down by gender, and by whether the respondents had finished an undergraduate (UG) or postgraduate (PG) course.

In addition the results include reports on:

  • the number of leavers working for certain employers
  • the number of leavers earning under the loan repayment threshold of £21,000

How The Careers Service uses the information

While the detail is confidential, we do analyse overall levels of activity so that we can adjust our service to better meet students' needs. If you have any questions about the data, do feel free to contact reception on reception@careers.ox.ac.uk where your enquiry can be forwarded to the relevant member of staff.
