Reaching out to peers
As an Oxford alum you may want to start your career review by talking to other alumni of similar age or in similar sectors; or perhaps you want to talk to alumni who are in a sector you are interested in.
The Oxford Careers Network (OCN) is a database of former Oxford University undergraduates and postgraduates, who have volunteered to share their experiences of employment, further study and gap year activities. You can read their case studies and then contact them for more advice and information.
To access the OCN you'll need to register on CareerConnect as a 'student', in other words, as a job seeker. Then, like all students, you'll have access to the hundreds of vacancies and the OCN.
Do remember to look round the rest of the site if you feel you want to give your CV a review and polish, or want to learn about particular sectors before you call an alum. You may also find it useful to read about Information Interviews - and how to make them useful.
