Careers Conference 17 March: Extra lunchtime opportunities!

Blogged by Rachel Bray on March 1, 2018.

The Careers Conference for Researchers will feature panels, skills sessions with employers, and generous time for having lunch with employers  – a great opportunity to ask your careers questions one-to-one. Feel free to quiz them on: What do doctoral graduates do in their organisation? What are the entry steps and skills they look for in an application?

Throughout the day there will also be workstations available for you to take a break from the bustle and focus on some quiet personal careers-related work. Resources on offer will include workbooks on ‘portfolio careers’ and on ‘overcoming a sense of academic failure’. These and other resources should help you explore aspects of your current life and possibilities for your future that may not have been on your radar before now.

  • When: Saturday 17 March, 10:00-16:00
  • Where: Examination Schools
  • Book: via CareerConnect (search ‘Events’)

Although all places at this conference have been booked, please register via CareerConnect and you will be added to the waiting list. Spaces that become available will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you have booked, but are now unable to attend, please cancel your booking so someone else can have the place.

And if you can’t come, don’t panic! You can engage with the Careers Service resources at any time and download our programme with employer contacts after the event.
