About this siteWelcome to the Oxford Careers Service web site. We've recognised that our users - students, alumni, recruiters and university colleagues - often want to access the Careers Service when our offices are closed or they are away from Oxford. So we've provided you with this web site - making it simple to find the vital information you need about that interview or how to recruit a student from Oxford, at any hour of the day or night, from anywhere in the world.

We've organised our information into sections for each group of our users and have put the occupation data into the same groups that we use in the Resource Centre in our offices. You'll find we use the same codes and groups right across the site. This means that when you're searching for a vacancy or listing the occupations you're interested in you can specify the overall group (eg A for Education) or detailed group (eg A1 for Teaching in Schools).

If you're recruiting, you can use the same codes so that every student who's registered an interest in that code will automatically get an email when you post your vacancy.

We're excited about this site - the easy-to-access occupation data and the world-class background system - and we hope you are too. But we're always looking to stay ahead and to provide a service fit for the UK's leading university - so please let us know of any improvements you'd like to see by using our feedback form.

Registration

Most of the content of this web site is accessible to everyone; however, some of our content is for registered students, employers and alumni only (eg posting or reviewing vacancies, registering for events, updating personal profiles).

We keep this information safely in a password-protected area, which users need to register to use.  You can login to the password-protected area here.

  • Current students - you should automatically be able to register with us, provided there is up-to-date information about you on the University systems. Your details are provided to us by the University's registration system.
  • Alumni - if you are not already registered with us by the time you leave Oxford as a student, you will need to be register for us to approve you
  • Employers - complete the registration form, and contact recruiters@careers.ox.ac.uk if you face any difficulties.
  • All other users - you will need to come into the Careers Service to be able to register to use the Service. Check our eligibility policy first.
