Rachel has particular responsibility for advising Research Staff. Previously she managed a portfolio career straddling academia, policy and practice. Having lived and worked in South Asia and southern Africa, she can also advise on careers in those regions.

Academic research, teaching (lecturing and tutoring undergraduates and post-graduates), writing publications (academic and popular), policy research and programme evaluation in public health and social development (DFID, UNICEF, ILO, Save the Children), consultant to UK and international charities, designing youth services; developing participatory, art-based techniques for research and intervention (UK, Nepal, India, Mekong sub-region, southern Africa).
