The internships available through our popular programmes for Oxford University students*, The Summer Internship Programme, OxAbility, and The Crankstart Internship Programme are open for applications in Trinity term with varying deadlines.

All opportunities will be listed on their respective sector list webpages and in CareerConnect, under the Search Internship Office and Skills Programmes tab.

The Miranda Brawn Diversity Leadership Foundation Awards

The Miranda Brawn Diversity Leadership Foundation is generously offering an award to UK undergraduate Black, Bangladeshi, Pakistani and mixed heritage students to undertake a self-directed career development project in the summer vacation. The awards vary from £50 to £1,000 depending on the project. The deadline for applications is on Friday 29 May 2026.

The Christopher Moore Bursary for Visually Impaired Students

The bursary is to support visually impaired undergraduates with the costs associated with internships. This includes costs for specific equipment and support students may need to take part in an internship, as well as general costs. The maximum amount you can apply for is £3,000. The deadline for applications is on Friday 29 May 2026.

Internship Programmes

Summer Internship Programme - Summer vacation

The Summer Internship Programme offers a wide range of paid or funded internship opportunities in the UK and internationally for the summer vacation. Internships run full-time for 2–12 weeks. Roles begin to be advertised from 19 January through the International, UK, and combined rounds, with rolling deadlines extending through May.

Internships take place in the long vacation (between June and September), are 2-12 weeks in duration and are advertised from the beginning of Hilary term each year.

  • Round 5: Last few International and UK internships are advertised until 25 May.

Crankstart Internship Programme - Summer vacation

Crankstart Scholars are encouraged to gain work experience during their time at Oxford, and funding and support are available to help them do so. Crankstart Scholars can receive advice and guidance at any time with a view to undertaking a work placement in the summer vacation. Crankstart Scholars also benefit from exclusive opportunities advertised through the Crankstart Internship Programme. Please note that some internships may follow different timelines, so be sure to check the specific posting and submit your application before its closing date. 

Crankstart internships are advertised on a rolling-basis until June 2026. Please check individual opportunities for the specific closing date.

Eligibility

*The Careers Service internship programmes are open to current, matriculated Oxford University students (both undergraduates and postgraduates), including those in their final year of study and suspended students. Please note that MBA and EMBA students are not eligible to apply for Internship Office Programmes and are encouraged to access opportunities through the Saïd Business School Career Development Centre. Visiting students are also not eligible to apply.
