TargetJobs Undergraduate of the Year Awards 2023

The TargetJobs Undergraduate of the Year Awards celebrate the UK's best undergraduates in specific areas. Being the best means having a combination of academic excellence, the ability to pass a series of difficult online assessments, good written communication and, finally, the interpersonal skills necessary to compete with other students in assessment centres run by the partnering organisations. 

The Oxford University Careers Service is delighted that six Oxford students have been shortlisted in five categories:

Oxford University finalists at the Undergraduate of the Year Awards 

  • The Black Heritage Undergraduate of the Year Award, partnered by Sky:
    • Kwabena Osei, History and Politics
    • Samuel Ajakaiye, History and French
  • The Female Undergraduate of the Year Award, partnered by Rolls-Royce: Catherine Turkington, Chemistry
  • The LGBT+ Undergraduate of the Year Award, partnered by Clifford Chance, National Student Pride, Attitude and myGwork: Leo Tidmarch, European and Middle Eastern Languages
  • The Maths, Physics and Economics Undergraduate of the Year Award, partnered by Glencore: Lucy Wang, Mathematics and Statistics
  • The Undergraduate of the Year for Celebrating Neurodiverse Talent, partnered by Rolls-Royce: Charlie-Jade Rossi, Politics, Philosophy and Economics

Each award is partnered by a prominent graduate recruiter who provides a fantastic prizes for the winners, including a paid internship, trips abroad and other exclusive opportunities.

The finalist students attended the grand final on 21 April 2023 where the winners were announced.

The Winner of the Undergraduate of the Year for Celebrating Neurodiverse Talent:

Charlie-Jade Rossi, University of Oxford, Politics, Philosophy and Economics

Charlie is a second-year politics, philosophy and economics student at the University of Oxford. Alongside her degree, she is dedicated to supporting care leavers. In her first year, she sat as the chair of Milton Keynes’ Children in Care Council and took on the role of care leavers’ officer for Oxford Student Union’s Class Act campaign. Committed to personal development, Charlie recently graduated from Circl’s Future Leaders programme, having attained its ‘accredited leadership and coaching qualification. She has recently founded a society for estranged, care experienced and adopted students at Oxford.
