Invitation to apply for the 2025 McDonald Conference for Leaders of Character

 

The McDonald Conference for Leaders of Character began in 2012 with the vision of being the premier transformative, short-duration leadership experience for young, emerging global leaders who unite with preeminent world leaders in an enduring partnership. The 2025 conference theme, 'Leading Organisations through Change', will focus on leveraging leadership skills to drive transformation and build organisational resilience.

Apply to be nominated

Invitation is by university nomination only and is open to current undergraduates, graduating in 2026 and 2027. Applicants need to have excellent academic standing and outstanding leadership skills.

To apply for nomination, complete the tasks below and email directorsea@careers.ox.ac.uk by 22 November 2024. Interested candidates should only apply if fully committed and available for the conference schedule in March.

  1. Tell us about yourself in up to 80 words.
  2. Describe your leadership style in about 250 words. Please provide an example of a time when you have led a team, and what you learned about your personal leadership style.
  3. Write about 250 words on why you would like to attend, and what you feel you would learn.

Successful applicants will then be invited to the next stage, which is a 15 minute interview.

The conference covers the cost of meals, lodging, and transportation. This includes international flights and local ground transportation. International Student Fellows are responsible for obtaining visa/passport documents necessary for travel to the U.S.
