The winners of the 2023 Internship Office Photo Competition

We asked all University of Oxford students who took part in internships facilitated or funded through the Internship Office in the 2022-2023 academic year to submit original photos of their internships, accompanied by a short description. The categories were: 1. Your journey to work, and 2. You on your internship. In response, we received more than 200 entries from 67 students making it incredibly difficult for the judging panel to make their final decision.

We are excited to announce that the winners are…

 YOUR JOURNEY TO WORK

Joan Kanyago, Final Year Undergraduate, BA Economics and Management at Lady Margaret Hall

Summer internship at Professional Women's Network in France (Nice)

My tram journey ran past the Promenade Des Anglais, overlooking the turquoise sea and regularly with an aeroplane flying low. Then it would twist past the palm trees and race along pastel pink and orange houses with yellow or green balconies. With this internship, not only have my chances of landing a consulting or marketing job increased but PWN’s all women team remains such an inspiration to me.

 YOU ON YOUR INTERNSHIP

Ruth Arnold, Final Year Undergraduate, Interdisciplinary Bioscience at Pembroke College

Summer internship at Blue Corner Conservation in Bali

The technique used at Blue Corner Conservation is to collect loose coral fragments from the sea floor for use in the transplantations. In this way, we reduce damage to the reef and can collect native species. Here I am with a Pocillopora species, adding to our basket!

We want to share our congratulations with the two winners and thank all entrants for inspiring us and allowing us to celebrate their success.
