The diverse range of courses and institutions, the requirements of the application process and the need to thoroughly research funding options mean that you should ideally start your investigations more than a year ahead. This is a practical session, covering course and institution choice, the application process, standardised tests and funding, and it aims to help you make a start. 

Postgraduate Study: Exploring International Opportunities - Methods for Exploration, Approaching Supervisors

In this session we will look at the practicalities of exploring international postgraduate study options. We will explore the types of grad schools across the globe and methods for exploration. We will also consider how to approach supervisors, consider funding, and submit applications. 

Postgraduate Study: PhD Planning and Applications

Are you considering doing a PhD? Whether to purely deepen your interest in a subject, to pursue an academic career, or gain skills and experience before entering employment, there are many reasons you may want to earn a doctorate degree. This session will focus on helping you explore your motivations for doing a PhD, and assist you in deciding whether it is the right next step for you. We will briefly explore how to select degree programmes and institutions and provide an overview of application processes and identifying funding options.
