8-week Summer Visiting Professorship of Service Program at the Asian University for Women in Bangladesh

The Asian University for Women (AUW), dedicated to the education, empowerment, and leadership development of highly talented women from across Asia and the Middle East, announces an 8-week summer Visiting Professorship of Service Program beginning in June 2024.

AUW is a multicultural liberal arts university located in Chittagong, Bangladesh, with students from 19 countries across Asia and the Middle East. With 550 Afghan students, AUW is dedicated to empowering Afghan women and providing them leadership, and academic training to enact their own visions. AUW is committed to recruiting Rohingya refugees and encourages women who are the first in their family to get a university education. Its mission is to graduate women who will be skilled and innovative professionals, service-oriented leaders in the communities in which they will work and live, and promoters of intercultural understanding and sustainable development in Asia and throughout the world. The university is dedicated to teaching excellence in a liberal arts setting, with a strong commitment to research and scholarly engagement.

Core Responsibilities

  • Teach two months, beginning June 2024
  • Professors will teach 2 courses in the following fields: Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biophysics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Environmental Science, Politics, Philosophy, Economics, Public Health, Dance, Theater, History, Literature, Comparative Religion, Data Science.

Desired Candidates

  • Recent PhD graduates and faculty appointments
  • Have an unmitigated passion for women’s education and equity, and an interest in other cultures
  • Native English speaker
