Researcher Hub

Oxford’s Researcher Hub provides a warm and practical welcome to all researchers at Oxford, signposts key professional and career development opportunities across the University, and works to support researchers, their line managers and the University in fulfilling their respective responsibilities within the national Concordat for the Career Development of Researchers.

Professional Development

The Careers Service offers support to research students and fixed-term researchers working at Oxford University through 1:1 appointments and researcher-specific programmes and workshops. We are here to support your career decision-making and next steps, wherever you are in your journey and whatever your aspirations or concerns.
People and Organisation Development offers self-directed professional development training for all staff, plus advice on PDR/CDRs (professional or career development reviews).
Oxford's Centre for Teaching and Learning: training, resources and tools for teaching in-person and remotely
Coaching is available to research staff via the Oxford Coaching Network (OCN). You can apply to be matched with a volunteer coach with an appropriate background to support your career thinking and planning process
Beacon personal development programme is open to all staff
The Oxford Women’s Development Programme is open to women at all levels

Oxford Research Staff Society (OxRSS) offers social and professional networking activities.
The university's Equality and Diversity Unit supports networks for BME Staff, Disabled Staff and LGBT+ Staff
Oxford's Newcomers' Club helps the newly-arrived partners of visiting scholars, of graduate students and of newly appointed academic and administrative members of the University to settle in and to provide an opportunity to meet people in Oxford.

Read the university's Code of Practice on the Employment and Career Development of Research Staff.
Specific information is available on family leave schemes, childcare services, and the Returning Carers Scheme.
Research staff on fixed-term contracts may wish to view the university's Fixed term employee regulations as well as its policies covering the ending of fixed term contracts.

Aspect Accelerator is a growing network of organisations working together to support innovation, entrepreneurship and research commercialisation in social sciences
Research Design Service provides research design and methodological support to health and social care researchers across England
Research Professional – a useful source of information on grant funding and research job vacancies.
Enterprising Oxford - encourages and supports entrepreneurs, and promotes entrepreneurship across Oxfordshire.
Oxford Policy Engagement Network links researchers, doctoral students and professional services staff at the University of Oxford who share a vision of public policy powered by the world’s best available research evidence and expertise.
Translational Research Office supports researchers in their effort to translate their findings from basic biological, biomedical or clinical research into practical human health benefits such as new therapeutics, devices & diagnostics or other clinical interventions.
RISN - Research and Innovation Support Network is a community of colleagues involved in the support and management of research and innovation, both in Research Services and across the divisions. It provides a means to share best practice, encourage interdisciplinary activity, and identify opportunities for engagement.
