Previous experience
Jo has extensive experience working in, and with, the Higher Education sector. Prior to joining the Careers Service, Jo worked in a Higher Education Consultancy, supporting universities with their strategy development. She was responsible for client and project management, working closely with clients and consultants to ensure that projects ran to time and to a high standard. Projects she worked on included change management, university executive board development and the size and shape of academic portfolio.
Before this Jo worked at Oxford University, at the Ashmolean Museum, People and Organisational Development and the Careers Service. Jo managed the Crankstart Internship and Mentoring Programme for three years, growing the Programme to respond to the increase in Crankstart Scholars. She has a deep interest in widening participation and mentoring. Jo also has experience of working with charities and acted as Trustee at her local animal shelter for two years, and managed its volunteering programme for Duke of Edinburgh students.
In her current role as Careers Adviser, Jo is the lead for careers support for international students and international job search. She is also part of the International & Policy, Business, Finance & Management Consultancy and Education & Academia clusters.
